Bass Bq and Soul Food in Stockbridge

Horrible!!! I ordered a rib plate, mac n cheese, and greens on the side. $12. As I'm putting pepper on my sides I notice a worm, yes, a worm, in my greens. Looks just like the greens, almost. I take it back in and the lady see's it, takes it out the greens, and proceeds to ask me if I would like another side. Bewildered and baffled by this comment, I politely said, no, I'll pass. I would like my money back, then she says we don't give refunds and offeres me something fried to eat instead. SMFH!!!! The audacity. Safe to say I will never try this place again, this was my first and last time coming. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to dispute this charge with my bank. 10/15/19

First time trying this place food was not good at all very bland, won't be back.

The food is really good here but it never tastes the same 2 days in a row which has been both a good thing and a not so good thing. Over all though I would recommend!

Unfortunately, it’s gone down quite a bit in the last couple of years. The food is bland and the portions are small compared to similar restaurants (i.e. This is it/Annie Laura’s). I hadn’t been in about 6 months because my experiences were steadily declining. But, I decided to give them another try and it just confirmed that I won’t be going back. There are just too many other restaurants in the area that deliver a higher quality experience.

Order cooked to order food. Waited 20 mins. Food came out and lady behind the counter asked everyone could she help them. What's the point of food to order and its served WARM /COLD...

I’ve been coming here for years, but the customer service is very bad now.The lady , Brenda, who serves the food is especially rude. She doesn’t wear a mask while serving the food, yet she puts on her mask when checking you out while cashier? Covid-19 is prevalent and we don’t know much about it. Doesn’t make much sense, but when you ask Brenda about wearing her mask while serving food, she just gives you a nasty look and pretends to ignore your question while putting on her mask as she transitions to cashier. I am never coming back to this store. Very disappointing.

The food has been great every time I have been and staff is always real cool!! We love this place. Reminds me of my moms cooking.

After searching for a place to eat in a different city, I saw there was a Bass Soul Food and I am a little familiar with their food in Ellenwood so I figured it would be the same. I did not notice till after I was told my total that Their prices are subject to change so I paid extra $2 for some salty cabbage, over cooked greens, watery Mac and cheese (use real cheese next time pls) and fluffy cornbread. Thanks for the attempt.

Got a veggie plate, the cabbage was white , didn't see not an ounce of green, very chewy and vinegar like after taste. Rice was hard and gritty . The Mac and cheese was absolute TRASH it has a weird old shoe/sweaty cheese taste. A big hard dried piece of burnt topping cheese was also included. Food was cold and honestly I think they are serving the same food since Covid 19 started. , Food wasn't fresh at all and it's definitely been sitting out longer than just TODAY 😝

It was ok not great! Greens had a different taste, more vinegar to me than traditional collards. Maybe it was the end of day but it seemed the food was old. The cashier was friendly and provided excellent customer service.

Macaroni and Cheese was salty and not baked. Turkey wings had no flavor. Green beans had no flavor. Rice was mushy, gravy had no flavor. The best thing I had that day was the corn bread and the peach cobbler. My 2nd time being disappointed coming here and I spent $37. SMH

This is the most I have gotten for my money in a long time . Lunch is only 6.49 and it was really good .

Staff was very friendly and the price was decent. The meal I got was very good. Mac n cheese was very cheesy...yay! Fried chicken was good, decent seasoning with crispy skin and made to order. Yams had a nice cinnamon and mildly sweet flavor and the cornbread was fairly good as well. I drove by and stopped in for 10 minutes...I’m glad I did!

Great tasting food and nice people. The food selection changes depending on the day of the week. My favorite is the oxtails on the weekends. Some of the plates are above average in price. A slice of cake should not cost $4.99 although they are all good. You can easily spend $20 a person here. The hot water cornbread is always fresh and taste great. They have your usual choice of sunday dinner sides. The candied yams taste great. If you have a taste for soul food this is a good place to go.

The hot water cornbread served with every meal snaps your mind back to when you were growing up. The food tastes wonderful! I'm only disappointed that I didn't know they've been there for the past seven years. Go and enjoy.

The food was aweful! The macaroni and cheese was salty and had no flavor, the dressing was dry and the turkey wing although moist was bland in taste. The best thing on the plate was the yams.

The BBQ chicken was tender. The greens were flavorful and the yams had just the right amount of sweet. I'll definitely be foing back!

I loved it...twice. Try the baked chicken, collards and Mac and cheese. Great comfort food that will leave you with that " I just ate great comfort food "feeling in your stomach for an hour.

Great customer service along with delicious food!

The food is trash now and so is the customer service. The tall gentleman cashier with the locs is very rude and inconsiderate. Will never patronize this business again or recommend it.

My first time.i got my husband dinner plate he’s picky he ate all his food I will be returning smothered porkchop over rice w gravy and green beans collards.i can always appreciate good service +food. I live a distance but work near and it’s on the way home 4 me.thanks again . First time was Awesome.oh yea he even ate the cornbread he’s not a bread person.❤️🦋

Food was bland and nasty! The dressing taste like the smell of wet dog food!!!! No bell peppers in dressing, no love at all in the cooking and I drove an half hour for nothing!!! Very disappointed also the baked chicken is not grilled on bbq grill, it tasted like boiled or something and the older lady didn't speak or greet me, terrible!

I have been coming here regularly from day 1 opening. I've supported all of the other locations as well when they were open. Long story short, they took 2 payments for one meal from my debit card. When I came back to show the double charge the employee acknowledged it happened. Called someone on the phone and when they were done, advised me nothing they can do tonight. I Wii have to come back tomorrow. They did not take into account what plans I may already have tomorrow. I told them I didn't want the money, just the plate they were already paid for. I was told sorry there is nothing they can do. I went to a restaurant next door and purchased a meal. Its difficult to keep the business amongst us...had to give my money to another culture of people.

I'm giving a 4 because the food is delicious. They could do better with portions though. The servers be inching the food on the plate. It's a little pricey but that's to be expected in the city.

The customer service was awesome for the men who flirted their way into large portions, right before me. All smiles disappeared when it came to the women. If I greet you better than you greet me, in your own place of business , there is an issue. The very small portions and lack of common courtesy in your customer, means I will not return. The lady behind asked a question about catering and even that did NOT earn a smile. Why are you scowling at the women? We pay just like the men! Nothing worse than, not getting what you pay for and with unmerited attitude. I pray you all improve! I spent darn near $50 and didnt get half the food the men who flirted received! This is why it is difficult to support your people. I must admit, my feelings are hurt. I went in excited and left heavy-hearted. I am actually sitting in front of the store sending this review...so sad. How you treat people matters!

I purchased a vegetable plate only. Cabbage, collard greens and black-eyed peas. Tasted pretty good to me. Portions were fine. But $7 (including tax) is too high for three vegetables. That would buy six or seven hamburgers at any national fast food joint. (But I'm not trying to eat that garbage.)

I visited this establishment today(6/14/2020), and the service was ok. I was greeted by a y’all gentleman behind the counter. He was very friendly and welcoming. The young lady behind the counter (she had lemonade braids)wasn’t as welcoming. It was obvious that she didn’t want to be there. I ordered 2 fried pork chop plates and a meal for my daughter. The food was very bland and we refused to finish it. The collard greens, dressing, and Mac n cheese had no seasoning whatsoever. My bf’s pork chop wasn’t cooked all the way. We were highly disappointed with the food and I will not be back to patronize this location. I hate I wasted $40 for this so called “soul food”.

Due to Covid-19 and an increase in food prices, their prices have gone up 10% and there is a 20% upcharge. There is a sign on the door and once you go inside. The food and the customer service is not worth it. The lady that's there with the brace on her hand could not be more UNFRIENDLY if she tried. It's as if you're bothering her. I paid an addition $4.42 just for the upcharge. Last visit.

It’s hit or miss. I have been patronizing this business for a few years now mainly because of convenience (close to home). Their smothered pork chops and barbecue ribs are normally good, so is the baked chicken. I’ve had better greens. The macaroni and cheese is normally good. The yams are hit and miss. The portion size is good. The business definitely has room for improvement. Overall it’s average. I would prefer Annie Lauries or This Is It.
